As it appears, my previous post on comparing Hitler and Modi against Dr Rajan was based on manipulated media reports which constantly portrayed his statement as a veiled attack on government. Dr Rajan was in fact, supporting free market economy (the missing fourth pillar of Fukuyama's model) and hence cannot be against the current Government. I am glad that my accusation was wrong, because, as I mentioned earlier, I think he is one of the best brains in our country. I still maintain that Hitler vs Modi is a poor comparison and nothing has changed on that part. Having said that, I should point out that the opinion I had about his speech till yesterday is the prevailing opinion. I debated on Dr Tharoor's page with quite a few people, some of whom praised Dr Rajan for his courage to speak the truth against the AUTOCRAT. One particular guy suggested we needed Indira Gandhi and my heart wept with blood at the prospect of such a horrendous situation. Anyway, in conclusion:
a) I will need to be more careful about media reports. My apologies
b) Media is playing a poor, if not utterly biased role in formulating public opinion. So try to cross check the sensational reports with other sources
Jai Hind!
